update palworld 1200

Palworld 1.0.3 Adds a New Setting for Dedicated Servers

Pocketpair has released Palworld v1.0.3, bringing another round of balance adjustments and bug fixes following the launch of Palworld 1.0. For dedicated server administrators, however, one addition stands out: a new setting controlling whether enemy camps can spawn near player bases.

The update also fixes several issues specifically affecting dedicated servers, making this relatively small patch particularly relevant for multiplayer communities and server owners.

A New Setting for Palworld Dedicated Servers

The most notable change for server administrators is the addition of a new server option:

New server parameter: bAllowEnemyCampSpawnNearBaseCamp

Palworld normally suppresses enemy camp spawns when they are too close to a player base. The new option allows server administrators to disable that protection and let enemy camps appear near player settlements.

It is a relatively small addition, but one that gives community servers another way to customize their worlds. Administrators looking for a more dangerous environment can allow hostile activity closer to established bases, while servers focused on building or a more relaxed experience can retain the existing behavior.

Several Dedicated Server Issues Have Also Been Fixed

Version 1.0.3 also addresses several bugs that could affect players connected to a Palworld dedicated server.

  • Fixed an issue where Fast Travel could unexpectedly trigger during certain Tower Boss battles on dedicated servers.
  • Fixed an issue where Pals could appear to vibrate rapidly on the client side when playing on a dedicated server.
  • Fixed an issue where Attack Chopper music triggered by another player could be heard from an excessive distance.

Pocketpair has also corrected several broader multiplayer and co-op issues, including lighting problems after cutscenes, stuttering during parts of the World Tree sequence and visual inconsistencies with some Pal Partner Skills.

Progression and Resource Gathering Get Some Adjustments

Palworld 1.0.3 is not solely focused on server fixes. Pocketpair has also adjusted several parts of the game's progression and resource economy.

Some technologies related to Jetragon now unlock at level 70 instead of level 79, while the Aquatic Construction Kit has received a much larger change, moving from level 66 all the way down to level 23. Its Ancient Technology Point requirement has also been reduced from four points to one.

Resource gathering has been made more generous too. The amount of Fiber obtained from trees has been doubled, while Crude Oil Extractors and High-Pressure Crude Oil Extractors now produce oil faster.

Construction costs have also been reduced for the Crude Oil Extractor, High-Pressure Crude Oil Extractor and Large Power Generator, alongside additional adjustments to equipment, World Tree Holy Water, rewards and crafting requirements.

A Small Update Worth Noting for Server Administrators

Palworld 1.0.3 is clearly not a major content update, but it continues Pocketpair's work on polishing the game following the release of version 1.0.

For server owners, bAllowEnemyCampSpawnNearBaseCamp is the most interesting addition. Server-side options like this make it possible to gradually create more distinct multiplayer experiences, whether a community wants a challenging survival world or a safer environment focused on building and exploration.
