Conan Exiles Enhanced Comes to PS5 and Xbox in 2027, with Full Crossplay Confirmed

Conan Exiles Enhanced is officially coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in early 2027. Funcom has also confirmed that full crossplay is planned between PC and consoles, opening the door to a much more connected multiplayer community. However, the transition comes with important changes to official servers, existing saves, and the future of Conan Exiles Legacy.

What you need to know
  • Console release: Early 2027 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
  • Free upgrade: Available to existing PlayStation and Xbox owners.
  • Full crossplay: Confirmed for after the console launch, with no exact date yet.
  • Save migration: Existing official Exiled Lands progress will carry over, but Isle of Siptah bases cannot be preserved.
  • Private servers: Legacy hosting remains possible, while future cross-platform connection rules still require clarification.

Full crossplay between PC, PS5 and Xbox

The biggest announcement is not simply the arrival of Conan Exiles Enhanced on current-generation consoles. It is Funcom's confirmation that full crossplay is coming to the Enhanced edition.

This means the studio intends to bring together the currently separate PC, PlayStation and Xbox player communities. Friends using different platforms could eventually explore the same persistent world, cooperate on construction projects, or compete in multiplayer battles.

For community administrators, the potential benefits are substantial. Cross-platform multiplayer could make it easier to maintain active communities and bring together groups of friends who previously could not play together.

Important: crossplay is not confirmed for launch day.

Funcom says full crossplay will arrive soon after the console launch. No precise date has been announced, and the studio has not yet detailed how privately hosted dedicated servers will participate.

Until those technical details are published, server owners should not assume that an existing PC dedicated server will automatically accept console connections.

What changes with Conan Exiles Enhanced?

Already available to Steam players, Conan Exiles Enhanced introduces a major technical and visual overhaul of Funcom's survival game. The console release will bring these improvements to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Improved visuals

Enhanced environments, lighting, character rendering and visual effects give the Exiled Lands a more modern presentation.

Performance and usability

The edition includes performance improvements, a redesigned interface and quality-of-life changes for exploration, crafting and building.

A connected world

The Isle of Siptah is integrated with the Exiled Lands, allowing travel between both areas without changing servers. The Siptah expansion remains separately purchased content.

The Enhanced edition will be available as a free upgrade for existing console owners. Players who own Conan Exiles on PS4 or Xbox One will receive access to the corresponding current-generation Enhanced version.

Existing purchases, including DLC, Bazaar items, Crom Coins and Twitch Drops, will carry over to Enhanced. Funcom has also confirmed that the Legacy of the Giant-Kings content released on PC will be available on consoles at launch.

Save migration: what happens to bases and characters?

Moving to Conan Exiles Enhanced is not just a graphical upgrade. It also changes the structure of the game world, making save migration one of the most important issues for long-running multiplayer communities.

Exiled Lands: official server progress is preserved

Funcom confirms that official Legacy servers running the Exiled Lands will be upgraded to Enhanced. Existing characters, followers and bases on those servers will carry forward during the transition.

This is reassuring for players who have invested hundreds of hours in their settlements and progression.

Isle of Siptah: existing bases cannot be preserved

The situation is different for the Isle of Siptah. Because the island is now part of the larger Enhanced world, its physical coordinates have changed.

As a result, existing bases built on the Isle of Siptah cannot be preserved during the official server migration.

Warning for established Siptah communities

The loss of existing Siptah bases is a confirmed migration limitation, not a routine server update issue. Funcom has promised additional preparation guidance, including information for private server hosts, before the console release.

Enhanced saves cannot return to Legacy

Single-player saves can move from Legacy to Enhanced, but the conversion is one-way. Once a save has been loaded in Enhanced, it cannot subsequently be opened in Legacy.

This is particularly important for console players who may have limited options for creating independent save backups.

Private server administrators should also keep separate backups before attempting any future migration, although Funcom has not yet published the complete private-server conversion procedure.

Conan Exiles Legacy: private servers can continue

Not every community will want to migrate immediately. Some administrators may prefer their existing world, their current configuration, or a set of mods that has not yet been prepared for Enhanced.

Funcom confirms that Conan Exiles Legacy will remain accessible on consoles, but its long-term support will be limited.

The future of Legacy

  • Official Legacy servers will no longer be available after their transition to Enhanced.
  • Players can continue using Legacy in single-player or on private servers.
  • Critical bug fixes may continue, but major new content is no longer planned for Legacy.
  • The Bazaar will be disabled in Legacy, and Crom Coins will no longer be usable there.
  • Purchases made in Enhanced will not carry backward into Legacy.

Players intending to remain on Legacy should pay particular attention to their Crom Coins. Funcom recommends spending any remaining currency before the Enhanced console release if they do not intend to migrate.

For private communities, the most important takeaway is that Legacy hosting is not being eliminated. However, remaining on Legacy means continuing with a version that will no longer receive major content expansions.

What does crossplay mean for private dedicated servers?

This is the biggest unanswered question for multiplayer communities and server hosting providers.

Full crossplay has been officially announced for Conan Exiles Enhanced, but Funcom has not yet confirmed the technical requirements for privately hosted cross-platform servers.

In particular, the studio has not published definitive information about whether console players will be able to connect to an existing PC dedicated server hosted by an independent provider, or whether additional configuration or compatibility requirements will apply.

The announcement also does not establish whether modded PC servers will be compatible with console clients under the future crossplay system.

Confirmed vs. still unknown

Confirmed by Funcom

  • Full crossplay is planned for the Enhanced edition after console launch.
  • Private Legacy servers can continue operating.
  • Additional migration guidance will be shared with private hosts.

Not yet confirmed

  • Whether existing third-party PC dedicated servers will accept console connections.
  • Any additional requirements for cross-platform server hosting.
  • Cross-platform compatibility of PC server mods.
  • The final private-server migration procedure and crossplay rollout date.

How server administrators should prepare

There is no reason to rush into a migration before Funcom releases its technical documentation. Communities can already prepare for the transition by reviewing their existing infrastructure and preserving important server data.

  1. Back up existing worlds: Keep independent copies of your save files and relevant configuration data wherever possible.
  2. Document your server setup: Record active mods, gameplay settings, administrative permissions and any custom configuration.
  3. Review Isle of Siptah content: Inform players of the confirmed limitations before planning the transition.
  4. Keep Legacy backups separate: Avoid overwriting an existing world with converted data before you understand the migration process.
  5. Follow official announcements: Wait for Funcom's private-server instructions and crossplay compatibility details.

VeryGames currently offers hosting for both Conan Exiles Enhanced and Conan Exiles Legacy through its DediGames® Box platform. Administrators can manage their server versions, configuration and backups through the hosting control panel.

The existing hosting options are available today, independently of the future console crossplay feature. Support for console connections on privately hosted servers will depend on the technical framework eventually announced by Funcom.

A new chapter for Conan Exiles communities

The arrival of Conan Exiles Enhanced on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S represents a major milestone for Funcom's long-running survival game. Full crossplay has the potential to unite previously separated player communities and create new opportunities for multiplayer adventures.

However, server migration remains an important challenge, especially for communities established on the Isle of Siptah or those maintaining customized private worlds.

The next key announcement will concern private-server compatibility and migration. Until Funcom provides the necessary documentation, administrators should protect their existing data and avoid making assumptions about future console connectivity.
